The temple can be visited throughout the year, but the months from March to June and September to November offer the best weather. During Maha Shivaratri, the temple sees a large number of devotees.

Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple is approximately 3 km from the main town of Pithoragarh. Local transport and shared taxis are easily available to reach the starting point of the trek.
