Bhavishya Badri Temple – Joshimath

Nestled in the tranquil forests of Subhain village, about 17 km from Joshimath, Bhavishya Badri Temple is a serene Himalayan shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu. At an altitude of 2,744 m, this “Future Badrinath” offers spiritual depth, natural beauty, and a captivating mythological history.

🌄 Legend & Spiritual Significance

According to Hindu prophecy tied to Adi Shankaracharya, when Kali Yuga intensifies and the right arm of the Narsingh idol in Joshimath withers, the path to Badrinath will become blocked. At that moment, Lord Badrinath will manifest here at Bhavishya Badri as the new seat of worship.

The self‑emerging idol of Lord Vishnu—believed to be growing within a stone—adds another layer to this prophecy. Pilgrims feel drawn to this burgeoning sacred presence.
