About Dhikala Zone
Situated deep inside Corbett National Park, Dhikala Zone is the largest and most sought-after safari zone. It is famous for its open grasslands (chaurs), dense forests, and the breathtaking Ramganga River that flows through it. This zone is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, elephants, deer, crocodiles, wild boars, and a variety of birds.

Best Time to Visit
The ideal time to visit Dhikala Zone is from 15th November to 15th June, as it remains closed during the monsoon season. The winter months are particularly great for spotting tigers and migratory birds.
Safari Experience
Dhikala Zone offers two main types of safaris:
- Canter Safari: A shared safari that takes you deep into the core zone.
- Jeep Safari: Available only for those staying inside the Dhikala Forest Rest House.
Both safaris provide an incredible chance to witness wildlife in their natural habitat. The vast grasslands make tiger sightings more frequent here compared to other zones.
Accommodation in Dhikala
For a true jungle stay, Dhikala Forest Rest House is the best option. Managed by the forest department, it offers basic but comfortable rooms right in the heart of the jungle. Staying overnight in Dhikala is a thrilling experience, as you can hear the sounds of the wild all around you.
How to Reach Dhikala Zone
Dhikala is located approximately 30 km from Ramnagar, the nearest town and railway station. You can reach Ramnagar easily by road or train from major cities like Delhi. Entry to Dhikala is only permitted with a registered safari vehicle and a valid permit.
